Indie Takeaway @ The Black Box - Sunday 3rd August

Better than the average banana….

On entering the Indie Takeaway you will be presented with a menu which will represent the gig you are about to see. You will then be played each of the songs on the menu allowing you to select your musical meal. Finally as part of admission fee our waiters will present you with a CD platter of your chosen dishes in MP3 format. In other words you get to take your favourite songs home for free!

On the menu…

Garage rock hybrid Lafaro are one of the finest Irish Alt rock bands you are likely to hear in quite a while, with more kick than a Vindaloo.

Escape Act (that’s us) have tunes as crisp as a plate of poppadoms and release first single ‘God Says’ on June 23rd digital and limited edition vinyl, but you can have the tune included in admission tonight.

John Shelly and the Creatures formed in February 2007 after a chance meeting in Berlin with two homeless Irish twins named John and Shelly.

Finally recent ATL Rock School Champions The Good Fight bring a smoother but equally pleasurable taste to the table.

It all happens this Sunday 3rd August at The Black Box. Doors at 8pm! Part of Trans!

Subba-Cultcha.com Reviews God Says

Subba-Cultcha.com (http://www.subba-cultcha.com/singles.php) had these kinds words to say about God Says - “Dreamy Indie pop, with moments of Guided By Voices catchiness and The LA’s classicalism…”

and of the flipside, Tom McShane’s Fighter: “Slow burning lament, touched with melancholy and exploding into falsetto when the emotion calls for it, a touching song from an artist with a pure soul…”

Stendhal Festival Cancelled

Unfortunately the Stendhal Festival 2008 has been canceled due to poor advance ticket sales. We’re really gutted that this has happened as playing the festival would have been the highlight of the summer for us. We wish the guys all the best in planning for next year.

What to expect next year….

Hot Press review God Says

Hot Press reviewed God Says in their 13th July 08 issue…
“‘God Says’ opens with a great meaty pounding guitar riff, before a measured pause for some Jesus & Mary Chain-lite vocals. After that, it’s a case of lather, rinse and repeat, no bad thing in this case, serving to reaffirm the listener’s faith in simple, sub-three-minute guitar pop. Top marks.” by Stephen Errity.
